Joshua-Benjamin Lightcaster Marrald

Joshua Marrald, aka Lightcaster, is an aspiring music educator rooted in Pilipino culture and a profound love of people. He is the founder of content studio Lightcaster Music LLC and is working on building online content for public release.

Joshua has performance experiences with arts ensembles from his childhood through to college and beyond. He has performed with several different ensembles in countries across the world. These include venues in Denmark, Russia, Finland, Italy, France, Spain, as well as many performances across the United States. In 2019, he served as the Pilipino Cultural Night Coordinator for Akbayan Pilipino-American Student Organization at San Jose State University. During his term, he wrote, organized, and produced the 31st Annual Pilipino Cultural Night: Gumising Ka for a cast of over 180 students.

Joshua has a BM in Music Education from San Jose State University, where he studied under Dr. Jeffrey Benson and Dr. Corie Brown to pursue a Choral/General Music emphasis. He is currently completing the Single Subject Credential Program at San Francisco State University working with Dr. Wendell Hanna.

Joshua currently resides in San Francisco, California.
